90210 New or Old?

I saw a promo for Beverly Hills 90210 today and my first reaction was indifferent. I remember hearing about it coming out again a couple months ago and was actually excited. Now that I see the promo, it's kind of like ruining a good thing. Okay okay, it was ruined when they went to college...lol. What do you think? Old or new?

DIY Madness and My Mama!

Exhibit 1: The Wishing Tree (that really isn't a wishing tree, but rather an ornamental piece for the escort card table). Excuse the horrible lighting and my messy table, I did not feel like getting the DSLR out and getting all artsy fartsy with the pictures!

Exhibit 2: The Candy Jars (2 out 5 complete) & Candy Cards. I have a matching Key Lime candy jar in addition to this. I have two more to complete and wrap up. Bryan saw this and said, "Dang, what are you doing with all that candy?" I should of responded, "I'm going to eat all of it, both jars, and then make a giant root beer float!" :)

Exhibit 3: The Wii Miis (okay, these really aren't a diy project but Paul Pape did make them by hand, so I'll justify this by saying he did the DIY). Look at my pasta and saranwrap background, creative no? I kid I kid..lol. But take a gander at my spectacles, and as Gail would say, my cherry nose! Bryan still doesn't think it looks like him, but I think it does. What does he know anyhow. :)

Exhibit 4: Not a DIY, but a cute one! It's my Mommy, trying to shake hands with Mr. Squirrel this last Saturday. It was funny, there were two squirrels and they kept getting closer and closer then would lie down in the shade :). Rabid animals are so cute, especially with foamy mouths!

Our Thursday Bible study friends threw up a surprise shower this past week. It was wonderful, since I’ve never really been surprised besides my engagement. Thanks Karen, Bob, Marta, Larry, Tricia, and Mike! Bryan and I really appreciated it. They also got us a very very very yummy cake that was in our WEDDING COLORS! On July 4th, we went to a friends (Irv and Esther's) Independence Day BBQ Party. Mmmmm....yummy food and Rock Band! It was my first time playing this game and it was soooo fun. Yes I totally brought the cheese out and my inner loving karaoke filipina came out! Har Har Har! Thanks for inviting us and please thank your friend Andres for bring Rock Band! BTW...since we are the geekery video game lovers, we did register for Rock Band...lol.

Wedding Invitations and RSVPs: A RANT

According to Wikipedia:
"Répondez s'il vous plaît", a French phrase that translates to "reply, if you please."[1]. It is with this meaning that invitation cards and similar documents are often marked with "R.S.V.P." It is standard practice to reply to an RSVP request whether confirming attendance or declining.

A wedding invitation procedure:
Step 1: Read invitation.
Step 2: Decide if you'd like to go to event.
Step 3: If answer to step 2 is yes, go to step 4.
If answer to step 2 is no, go straight to step 5.
Step 4: Check calendar for availability.
Step 5: RSVP with appropriate answer.

Reasons that weddings (my wedding) irritates me!
1. I sent you an invitation, you should of opened it, read it, and responded appropriately.
2. There was a RSVP date, which means you should of RSVPed by that date, which means, I should of received your response by July 1, not July 2, 3, 4 ...... Dec 25.
3. I put a stamp on your RSVP, thus you should have mailed it back to me with a response BEFORE July 1st, not emailed your response to, or called me with your response, or replied via a liason!
4. If you lost your invitation after your got your mail, tough! Invitations cost money, MY MONEY! I spent a lot of time and effort designing, putting together, and mailing these out.
5. If you never received your invitation, maybe I didn't send you one for a reason, if I did send it and it just never got there, I sent you another one and please do not do reasons 1-4.
6. If I sent you an invite, and you decided not to reply, please don't show up because you didn't bother sending me back your response which means you were not on the final head count for my venue.

Thank you to all my guests who responded on a timely manner. It's difficult to be accommodating to everyone. There was reason I sent you an invitation 1-2 months prior to the RSVP deadline. FIN! :|

Travel Travel Travel

The worst thing about work travel is that it's work travel. What's even worse about that is that I'M SICK! My stomach hurts...blech. I'm a sick girl with a traveling medicine cabinet as follows:

  • Sudafed PE
  • Flonase
  • Lomotil
  • Pepcid AC
  • Tums
I've been on travel since Saturday, and all I've managed to eat are saltines, applesauce, and yogurt. Yesterday we ate chinese, which wasn't good for me after an hour :(. I got a small stomach ache today after lunch, I suspect the diet coke. Dumb Reila. I'm sad that I'm sick.

Fun Fill Friday the 13th

Today was a pretty full day and we still have one more appointment to go, despite our canceled food tasting. We started off our Friday off as usual and had our Pre-Marital counseling session with Pastor Randy at the church. We then went a grabbed a bite to eat for lunch in Brea. Afterwords, to kill some time since we didn't go to the hotel for our food tasting, we stopped by Walmart so Bryan could get a credit on some DVDs he bought and then to Nordstrom's Rack, were I found some MbyMJ totes (I didn't buy anything!). Our last stop of the afternoon took us to the Old Santa Ana Courthouse so we could pick up our marriage license. I made this appointment about a month ago online, thinking it would be speedier. 45 minutes after our appointment time we get called in, show our IDs, answer a few questions, sign here sign there, take a oath, sign the check, and yay we can legally get married now! The last thing we did today was meet with our DJ, Anthony. It went pretty well, and he has a good feel on what kind of music we want played. We left feeling pretty good. Tomorrow, we are going to hang out with Bryan's parents and his mom and I are going on a shopping adventure to find her dress for the wedding. SHOPPING IS MEGA FUN! Now it's time for me to start my last final of the quarter. Here are a couple pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Signing the document, there's no turning back now unless we lose that piece of paper!

This is outside the old courthouse in Santa Ana.

Here are two more pictures from our e-session with Jonilyn!

Look is the CLA building! Obligatory jumping picture.
